Author Chris Kuhn

FeelingAllRed2Hello, my name is Chris Kuhn and while today, I can happily claim to be a freelance writer and editor, and soon-to-be published author, I also am a recovering corporaholic. (I try to put those days far out of my mind…waaaay out.)

Most recently, my day jobs have included serving as a marketing and promotions writer for a metropolitan newspaper, overseeing local content as editor and main writer for a women’s magazine franchise, producing local articles and other editorial and advertorial content for a number of Tampa, Fla.-based magazines, both online and print, and developing a variety of content for clients of every size and industry as an independent freelance writer and editor.

That’s a lot of words, a lot of sentences, a lot of pages. But…while it has been my calling, it has not been my dream.

My longtime dream has been to write my own book, something that I finally committed myself to do in summer 2012 after numerous tries. By the fall, I realized this is the real deal. I’m really going to do this. Finally.

Here at this blog, you will find the latest on my journey, as well as recent news about some of my favorite authors and their own work, from Colleen Hoover, Jamie McGuire and Sylvain Reynard to M. Leighton, Tammara Webber, Rebecca Donovan and S.C. Stephens to E.L. James, Tiffany Reisz and Sylvia Day, and so on and so on.   They inspire me every day, and I love nothing more than celebrating their success, examining their characters and motivation with other fans or with the authors themselves and encouraging others to read what compelled me to finally take the leap myself. I can only hope that perhaps along the journey some of these talented authors’ fans will experience similar joy and enthusiasm when they read one of my books.

I am anticipating a summer 2013 release for my first novel, a contemporary romance, and I can’t wait to share more details as I am able to make them available. I am so excited to take this next big leap in my writing career and I hope that you’ll be right there with me every step of the way.

As for who I am personally, well, I’m happily married for over 15 years.  This is my second shot at it, but this time around, I got it right. I have two wonderful stepsons, a terrific daughter-in-law and the coolest two grandkids you could meet. My dog, albeit an old one, is the love of my life (and my husband is well aware of this). When I’m not writing, I love to go exploring like a tourist, discover new Thai restaurants, go to the movies and golf (badly). If I could figure out a way to write my next book from a golf course while indulging in a Kevin Spacey marathon and scarfing down tofu panang curry, believe me, I would.

And, hey, I love hearing from readers – so let me have it but be gentle. You can follow me at my new Facebook page ( or chat with me on Twitter (@chriskuhnauthor). If you have more than 140 characters to share, shoot me an email at

Look forward to hearing from you!
